Who Can Apply to Be a Tutor?

  • Anyone 16 years of age and older who wants to make a difference

  • College & high school students interested in meaningful volunteer work, leadership experience, & a possible career in education

  • College students eligible for the Federal Work-Study or Californians for All College Corps program through one of our partner colleges or universities

  • Angeleno Corps members

  • Must be located in the United States

  • No experience necessary

How It Works

  1. Apply Online: Complete our short, online application form.

  2. Interview with Our Team: Participate in a brief interview to learn more about our program and share about yourself.

  3. Complete Background-Check and Training: Everything you need to know so you can begin tutoring confidently.

  4. Get Matched: We’ll pair you with a student who meets with you twice a week.

  5. Tutor from Anywhere: Sessions are virtual, twice per week, for 45 minutes each.

  6. Ongoing Support: You’ll have access to resources, coaching, and a community of tutors.

Are you a Work-Study student or College Corps fellow?

Step Up is a community partner for Federal Work-Study and Californians for All College Corps. We partner with dozens of colleges and universities and these students make up a core group of our tutors.
